Volumetric Weight Calculator
Couriers charge by whichever is greater — actual weight or volumetric (dimensional) weight. Work out your chargeable weight before you ship.
How volumetric weight works
Air carriers price shipments on the space they take up as well as how heavy they are. A large but light box (like a duvet) costs more to fly than its scale weight suggests, so carriers calculate a “volumetric” (or “dimensional”) weight from its size.
Volumetric weight (kg) = (Length × Width × Height in cm) ÷ divisor
The divisor depends on the carrier and service — 5000 is the most common for international air express. You’re charged on the chargeable weight: whichever is greater, your actual weight or the volumetric weight.
